So it's a nervous wait to see if I actually made the cut to get on the TV show. But before we get there, we need to have a little history.

You see, the programs you see on television are taped months in advance (but you probably already knew that!) So my XFactor journey started at the Melbourne "cattle call" auditions held at the Moonee Valley Race Course back in June. I showed up after lunch on the first day of auditions and there was nobody in line (which is always a bonus.) I filled out my paperwork, grabbed my number and headed into the holding room, with about a hundred or other so hopefuls.

In the holding room was a stage where you could get up and sing and there were some amazing acts that got up and got the room going. Everything from pop, blues, soul and more... although their did seem to be a lot of girls singing Justin Beiber songs. (But you gotta love the Bieb.)

I got up and sang "Play that Funky Music" and then "How Come You Don't Call Me" and hung around for a couple hours, while the producers called people back in groups to audition in front of the producers.

And then they called a lunch break-- to which I proceeded to go grab a coffee and ended up spilling it on my shirt. I was thankful that I had packed a second t-shirt, as I had something to change into before the audition.

After lunch, my group FINALLY got called and then we headed back to yet another holding area, where we had to wait to sing in front of a producer. There were a tonne of very nervous people there, and we had to line up on chairs and then shuffle along as people went in to audition.

<< more to come>>
